House of Delegates Hearing, BOAST Maryland Tax Credit

The House Ways and Means Committee of the House of Delegates will hold a hearing on the BOAST Maryland Tax Credit (HB 946) on March 17, at 1 p.m.

Nearly 300 students, teachers, and administrators from nonpublic schools across Maryland gathered in Annapolis to meet with their state legislators and express their support for the BOAST Maryland Tax Credit (SB 385/HB 946). The school representatives toured the legislative complex in Annapolis, where they attended meetings with their state senators and delegates and delivered letters in support of BOAST.

Following these meetings, BOAST supporters met for a rally on Lawyers Mall, where they heard from the following speakers: Sen. Roy P. Dyson, Del. William J. Frank, Mrs. Grace Roscoe (on behalf of Mr. Howard Roscoe, Teaching and Learning Institute, Baltimore), Del. Shawn Tarrant, Del. James Proctor, Sen. James “Ed” DeGrange, Sr., and Del. Jay Walker.

The event concluded with a lunch reception featuring remarks by nonpublic school students and additional state lawmakers.
