Events
When? Tuesday, March 6, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where? The Presidential Conference Center West I & II,
in the Miller Senate Office Building, Annapolis, MD
Who should attend? Students, parents, teachers, business leaders, education advocates, and anyone supports quality education options for K-12 students and teachers.
What will take place at the reception? The coalition staff will schedule meetings between attendees and their state representatives and staff on the morning of the reception. Attendees will have the opportunity to express their support for the new legislation and the education programs it will fund, including scholarships for private school tuition, school uniforms, student computers, and other resources for both private and public school students.
After meeting with legislators, attendees will gather for a brief rally, then return to the Miller Senate Office Building for presentations and a luncheon. Attendees will hear from sponsors of the legislation, as well as other education advocates who care about maintaining a range of excellent education options in Maryland.
To access the Legislative Complex in Annapolis, take Route 50 to Exit 24 (Rowe Blvd/Rt70).
Follow signs off the exit to take Rowe Blvd south toward downtown Annapolis.
Buses should drop off passengers on College Avenue at Lawyer's Mall, which is located directly in front of the State House (in between buildings #15 and #16, see map).
Individuals traveling by car are encouraged to park at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. From Rowe Blvd, turn right at the third traffic light, on to Taylor Avenue and follow signs to the stadium. Take the free State Government shuttle to Lawyers Mall.
The reception will be held in the Presidential Conference Center West I & II, Miller Office Building (building #13A, see map)
